About

Welcome, fellow travelers and lovers of lore!

I am Blair, a hobbyist folklorist and archivist with a passion for uncovering the hidden stories of our world. My journey into the realms of myth and legend took an extraordinary turn one fateful day in Cambelltown, Scotland. While exploring a secluded cave, I stumbled upon a remarkable discovery—an ancient portal.

The portal, activated by calibrating crystals on a spinning puzzle upon an ancient altar, opened a gate to the Otherworld and worlds beyond. Thrilled by the prospect of experiencing the myths I had spent years studying, I couldn't resist the call of adventure. I stepped through the portal and found myself in a realm where the beautiful and dangerous myths of old come to life.

This blog serves as my journal, documenting my explorations in these fantastical worlds. Here, I share my encounters with the creatures and places of legend, providing firsthand accounts backed by quotes from folklore and tales dating back to the 1800s and beyond. Join me as I delve into the mysteries of the Otherworld and bring the forgotten stories of our past into the light.

Q&A

Q: What are some online resources for researching Scottish Folklore?

A: Once media reaches a certain age, the media becomes public domain. Because of that, there are plenty of free folklore books on websites like Internet Archive, Project Gutenberg, Open Library, Google Books, Electric Scotland, and more. There are also audio books on Loyal Books, and historic audio recordings on Tobar An Dualchais.

Q:Who are your favorite artists?

A: I really enjoy the works of Arthur Rackham, Jakub Rozalski and Jana Heidersdorf.

Q: Favourite Webcomic Writer?

A: Carnby Kim. He wrote Sweet Home, Shotgun Boy, and more, and I greatly respect how he can write a character with morals we don’t typically agree with, and after a few update, have us liking that character despite his faults.
